Meanwhile, the fairy queen, Titania, is humiliatingly enchanted to fall in love with an actor whose head has been transformed into that of a donkey. For this 25th Anniversary special one-weekend presentation in memoriam of 9/11, we present David Rimmer’s powerful and deeply compassionate play, New York. Set in a group therapy session in the aftermath of the 2001 attacks, the play features a moving collection of monologues from fifteen diverse New Yorkers, including a firefighter, a school teacher, a pilot, and various survivors. As each character bravely recounts their personal experiences, grief, trauma, and attempts to cope with the unimaginable events of that fateful day, their stories weave a poignant tapestry of heartbreak, resilience, and the enduring human connection forged in crisis. This docudrama offers a thought-provoking and essential tribute to the spirit of the city and a shared moment of healing 25 years later.

Join us in celebrating the 30th Anniversary of its Broadway opening for Jonathan Larson’s revolutionary, Pulitzer Prize, and Tony Award-winning musical, Rent. This iconic rock opera tells the story of a year in the life of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians – including filmmaker Mark, musician Roger, and their bohemian friends – struggling to survive, create, and find their voices in New York City’s vibrant but challenging East Village during the height of the HIV/AIDS crisis. A modern take on Puccini’s La Bohème, Rent is a powerful, emotional, and ultimately hopeful call to action, reminding us through its unforgettable songs and its defining anthem “Seasons of Love,” to “measure your life in love” and embrace a life of “no day but today.”
